Being something of a #StarTrek fan I've obviously seen "The Motion Picture" a few times & first of all that's the least descriptive title ever, f**king why!?

- but it's also almost all wrong. The characters have a few mannerisms right but otherwise act distinctly unlike their TOS selves & the ridiculously plodding tempo is an utter misrepresentation of the series, which had to squeeze all the plot into 40 minutes. Frankly I'm amazed it didn't tank the STCU before it ever got started.

The Next Generation movies are sorta similar. The characters are there, but they all act a bit different to their TV counterparts.

I assume this is the case because cinematic movies are a different beast to television and they have to be more... dunno... spectacular and dramatic to succeed?

I kinda feel the same way about #NuTrek as well.

@kcarr2015 I agree - but I think TMP is particularly off in its interpretation of TOS 😝

Better that than modern day trailers. You see the whole movie in one 1.30m sitting. The good thing about that is you at least know the movie is crap.

Thank you, trailer companies... but also, fuck you trailer companies, for taking over editing jobs AND MAKING ENTIRE MOVIES THE GODDAMN TRAILER!

I swear...

@jwcph
I must be honest, I LOVE the Enterprise fly by scene and the shots of the Enterprise crossing above Vger's surface.
