One night when I was doing this show, the thumb hook for my clarinet decided it was no longer on good terms with the body, and the clarinet fell out of my hands while I was playing it. I limped along throught the rest of the performance that night.

I reached out on Facebook, and Paul Baker, one of the top doublers and bari players in town, loaned me his backup clarinet until I could get mine fixed. I did two shows with his instrument.

A good man helping somebody in need.
