So, I was bored and I made that. It's a tree of life with emojis. It took much more time than I expected... Feel free to share!

New version! (Yes, the dodo is extinct)

[Original post edited with even newer version]

@qruyant
This is amazing! 🤩 Thank you for creating this phylogeny
If there is another update of this may I suggest sponges to be added?
🧽

the sponges (porifera) would probably get their own branch upstream of the fungi 🍄but before the Cnidaria (Jellyfish and Coral) branch off
@polaris I'll think about it... I hesitated to put this one as well 🎃 but decided not to because it's crafted, and then where do I stop? 🍞🍺☕🚬
@qruyant
My argument in favour:
The object 🧽 represents may be crafted, but the underlying organism doesn't have another emoji representation (different to grains 🌾 or Tobacco 🍂)
Sponges are also distinct in their biology from other animals and form their own phylum (Porifera):
- multicelled immobile animals
- no nerves but an endoskeleton made of silica needles
- their cells remold their bodies if they are disintegrated (if the right cells are present)

@polaris Here you go!
@qruyant
😍 Thanks for the consideration!
@polaris Since the official Unicode name of the emoji is "Sponge", without further specification, I thought it was legitimate

@qruyant

This is beautiful.
Thanks for this great work.
