Serendipity!
I'm sitting here intending to #thermalpaper-print some pics and trying to decide what might look nice in grainy B&W when @sk76 toots a small thread about iconic B&W photographer Ansel Adams! There's a little trove of photos he donated to the LA library in the '60s.

I'll now print and share my favourite few images! Go take a look at SK's thread and peruse the pics yourself if you like street photography. Give him a follow if you like vintage imagery.

@sk76 #AnselAdams "Used Car Lot view 3" (c.1940)
@sk76 #anselAdams "8800 block of Wilshire Boulevard, view 5"
@sk76 #AnselAdams "Burbank drugstore, view 1"
@sk76 #anselAdams "Bowling tournament at Burbank Bowl, view 6"
@sk76 #AnselAdams "Lockheed newsstand, view 8"
Lots more interesting pics to view there if you like #bandwphotography
@ottaross this one reminds me of Walker Evans.
@qui_oui oh yes, similar period, though not as stark a subject matter.
@ottaross Yes, I know the period pretty well but for some reason I haven't seen this, and it had that vibe!
@qui_oui I'm fond of Dorothea Lange's work from the period as well. Yeah, I'm with you, I was only aware of Adams's landscape work.
