OPEN GOES COP is a coalition of organisations and individuals aiming to advocate for openness in the context of the UN Climate Change Conferences (COP). We aim to overcome the lack of discussion on the role of ‘openness’ as a necessary condition for addressing the climate crisis and to build the capacity of open movement activists and stakeholders from civil society and academia to influence high-level decisions on related issues. In this Inaugural Webinar, we call on all those interested in joining the coalition to develop common strategies and work together to make information and materials freely available. There will be an introduction to the COP processes followed by a brief introduction to the aims of the coalition and a short statement from each participating organisation. The meeting will then be open and conversational to decide together on the next steps.
