Anyone know why #simplicity not applied

Make the time everywhere on #moon the same as the earth #timeZone directly between the 2 Centers of Gravity.

Inhabitants will likely be underground w/o windows
so outdoor illumination need not be a significant factor

The minute duration will have to be adjusted and renamed as a #moonit

Why scientists say we need to send clocks to the moon — soon

There’s an ongoing international effort to keep time accurately on the moon. And it’s not just about creating a “lunar time zone.”

CNN
of course the duration between new moons is equal to a #LunarMoonth

I believe the #moon needs a time zone so those that inhabit various parts can have common ref to easily enable scheduling over the entire surface

Sorta like english mandated for flight instructions at Intl airports

Doesnt matter if its offset it just has to be fairly constant and sync up once a month at least

@EPIKURAS I'm still trying to figure out why they don't just declare some arbitrary point in time as "0" and start counting up from there, ditch the whole time zones (don't get me started on leap seconds...) Why does the moon need time zones?
@EPIKURAS The issue is not time zones, it's time standards: time passes more quickly on the Moon due to General Relativity, so the Moon needs its own time standard. Also, the Earth rotates relative to the Moon so there is no preferred Earth time zone.

@dgoldsmith

Exactly which provides a 24 lunar hour day for simplicity

@EPIKURAS Again, time zones are not the issue here. Please read the article.
