Introducing the new Framework Laptop 13 with Intel Core Ultra Series 1

Today we’re excited to announce the newest version of Framework Laptop 13 with the latest Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 1 processors, an optional 13.5” 2880x1920 120 Hz display on both Intel and AMD systems, a new webcam with 9.2MP image sensor, and configurations designed for businesses and

Framework
@frameworkcomputer curious, does the new webcam (2nd gen) work with all other generations + Linux?

@moritz @frameworkcomputer Of course you can use the webcam with the previous 13.5 inch models! That IS a point of Framework after all.

As for Linux compatibility, I would heavily assume that it does work because Fedora & Ubuntu are officaly supported, but I'm not Framework, so I don't know for sure.

@dhry @frameworkcomputer you can always buy the older version and upgrade later, that's the beauty of it!

(the new laptop has a better webcam and higher res display and faster processor/ram)

@dhry @frameworkcomputer :sigh: tell me you don't understand how this works by telling me you don't understand how this works.....
Not even gonna try and make you understand cause you clearly don't care.
@dhry @frameworkcomputer Intel Core Ultra 5 125H alone costs $250 bucks if we trust intel's own website. And that's one chip alone. RAM, SSD, battery, screen, modem, audio codec, speakers etc cost a lot too and add special modular design that requires not only people to create it, but also special production lines to produce it. It's fairly priced

@dhry @alihan_banan @frameworkcomputer Completely unmaintainable and unchangeable after purchase, except possibly RAM and storage.

Not to mention their shitty warranty policies:

You clearly have no clue about Framework's value proposition.

ASUS Scammed Us

YouTube
@dhry probably because of it including the higher resolution and refresh rate screen (which, as cool as it is, I do have to wonder: won't this kind of slaughter the laptop's already questionable battery life?)
@frameworkcomputer
I'm just curious if you are able to make a snapdragon elite laptop... but amd is a good option.
@frameworkcomputer Are the speakers louder? That's our biggest problem with our existing Framework -- we have to connect to an external speaker.
@peterdrake @frameworkcomputer I'm not saying they're super loud but just know that you can buy a slightly louder speaker set through the component store on the framework site that is louder than the default ones that come with it
@thibaultmol @frameworkcomputer Yeah, we're using those. Still too quiet for watching a show with dinner.
@frameworkcomputer Oof, and I literally just received my Framework 13 before this announcement. The better webcam and battery would've been nice 🙈

@frameworkcomputer

Snapdragon X Elite laptops coming?

@frameworkcomputer FINALLY SWEDEN!
I just bought a used Lenovo last month though, so that's a bit awkward...
I gave you 4 years!
@frameworkcomputer Yes yes yes finally you'll be shipping to Sweden! Take my money!
@frameworkcomputer When Hong Kong or China? Thank you.

@frameworkcomputer Definitely considering doing a #FrameworkStretch because I love this as a concept, and the only laptop I have is a decade old with no battery and a damaged power cable.

When can I place my order? It is two days into June now! :P
