Introducing the new Framework Laptop 13 with Intel Core Ultra Series 1

Today we’re excited to announce the newest version of Framework Laptop 13 with the latest Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 1 processors, an optional 13.5” 2880x1920 120 Hz display on both Intel and AMD systems, a new webcam with 9.2MP image sensor, and configurations designed for businesses and

Framework
@frameworkcomputer curious, does the new webcam (2nd gen) work with all other generations + Linux?

@moritz @frameworkcomputer Of course you can use the webcam with the previous 13.5 inch models! That IS a point of Framework after all.

As for Linux compatibility, I would heavily assume that it does work because Fedora & Ubuntu are officaly supported, but I'm not Framework, so I don't know for sure.

@dhry @frameworkcomputer you can always buy the older version and upgrade later, that's the beauty of it!

(the new laptop has a better webcam and higher res display and faster processor/ram)

@dhry @frameworkcomputer :sigh: tell me you don't understand how this works by telling me you don't understand how this works.....
Not even gonna try and make you understand cause you clearly don't care.
@dhry @frameworkcomputer Intel Core Ultra 5 125H alone costs $250 bucks if we trust intel's own website. And that's one chip alone. RAM, SSD, battery, screen, modem, audio codec, speakers etc cost a lot too and add special modular design that requires not only people to create it, but also special production lines to produce it. It's fairly priced
Amazon.com

@dhry @alihan_banan @frameworkcomputer Completely unmaintainable and unchangeable after purchase, except possibly RAM and storage.

Not to mention their shitty warranty policies:

You clearly have no clue about Framework's value proposition.

@frameworkcomputer
I'm just curious if you are able to make a snapdragon elite laptop... but amd is a good option.
@frameworkcomputer Are the speakers louder? That's our biggest problem with our existing Framework -- we have to connect to an external speaker.
@peterdrake @frameworkcomputer I'm not saying they're super loud but just know that you can buy a slightly louder speaker set through the component store on the framework site that is louder than the default ones that come with it
@thibaultmol @frameworkcomputer Yeah, we're using those. Still too quiet for watching a show with dinner.
@frameworkcomputer Oof, and I literally just received my Framework 13 before this announcement. The better webcam and battery would've been nice 🙈

@frameworkcomputer

Snapdragon X Elite laptops coming?

@frameworkcomputer FINALLY SWEDEN!
I just bought a used Lenovo last month though, so that's a bit awkward...
I gave you 4 years!
@ViggenMyLove @[email protected] i give you 6 months! It just tickles in your head until you can't resist anymore
@frameworkcomputer Yes yes yes finally you'll be shipping to Sweden! Take my money!
@frameworkcomputer When Hong Kong or China? Thank you.

@frameworkcomputer Definitely considering doing a #FrameworkStretch because I love this as a concept, and the only laptop I have is a decade old with no battery and a damaged power cable.

When can I place my order? It is two days into June now! :P

@frameworkcomputer oooo! i hope you'll consider adding pink as a future color >:3

@frameworkcomputer now that you're selling a display by resolution, it might be a good idea to list the resolution of the old screen in the marketplace?

It feels stupid to have to do a Google search to figure out how the two screens options differ

@kilpatds @frameworkcomputer did you find the resolution of the old one?
@2d @frameworkcomputer 2256 x 1504, at an unknown max frequency, per the current "specs" section of the display-kit page
@frameworkcomputer when can we get a framework laptop with a nipple in the middle of the keyboard?
@frameworkcomputer I wish I knew that before ordering my Framework a couple of weeks ago heh
@frameworkcomputer something is wrong there, the AMD seems to have actually gotten more expensive

@frameworkcomputer Great.
But.
This is the “Specs” page

https://frame.work/it/en/products/laptop-diy-13-gen-intel?tab=specs

I wasn’t able to find the screen resolution.

13.5" 2880x1920 120Hz 2.8K matte display
Note: display has rounded active area

@XLion @frameworkcomputer Great, thanks.

Wouldn't it be useful to put this information on that page?

@frameworkcomputer are prices shown on your website local currency?

@spmatich @frameworkcomputer ?

On the website it should show a currency icon... No?

@thibaultmol @frameworkcomputer
This is what I see
@spmatich go to the bottom of the webpage, choose your country, on modify the country code at the URL
@XLion it’s not showing on the mobile. All good I will check from desktop later on
@spmatich Actually, I found it at another page

@frameworkcomputer and they are now available in Denmark i see ❤️

Now i just need some cash for one 🤔

@frameworkcomputer
You've answered to my exact need!
- 2:1 scaling screen 👌
- Linux keyboard 😍

I'm only waiting for the actual release in hope for a rounded frame (OCD is triggered).

PS: Please update the trackpad to feel better and I'm instabuying it.

@frameworkcomputer Can I order from Bangladesh 🇧🇩?

@frameworkcomputer That's super tempting, though I'm already happy with my Framework 16...!

The slow display on the Framework 13 was the main reason I had to return it in favor of the 16, but if it's 120hz with good pixel response, I might have to take a look again...

@frameworkcomputer oy oy. does it got Trackpoint on it yet like
@frameworkcomputer oh boy! I just bought a Laptop 13! The new screen sounds just mind bogling great! Too bad that I can't justify the new buy 😁 maybe you can just slip a new screen under my door accidentally?!
@frameworkcomputer I wonder how the support for the rounded corners is in Linux?
Do you plan on releasing a second frame version fitting for the corners?
@frameworkcomputer @robey Is there an option for 5 GBit/s Ethernet modules?
@frameworkcomputer Pre-ordered the display. It was the last thing I needed before being able to commit to Linux on the FW 13. Those pesky Electron apps not playing nice with display scaling was the final dealbreaker.
@frameworkcomputer sadly, still not available in Switzerland ...
@frameworkcomputer are they available for purchase from within the UK?
@frameworkcomputer How about we go back to making machines with all of the IO people want baked in instead of trying to create a market for glorified Type-C dongles?
