Dis makes me happy
@stux doing a show like this and then vanishing again as fast as you arrived would be a very powerful move xD
@stux Cute, but overdubbed audio at the end kinda ruined it. 😕

@stux

What is that song?

@RuthODay @stux "Waltz No. 2" by Dmitri Shostakovich

@CKL

Ahh, thank you. I have heard it before and liked it.

For some reason I associate it with a French film.

@stux

@RuthODay @stux you're welcome.

I associate this melody with... _something_ in my past, but I don't know exactly what. This bugs me a lot. But it was something I liked...
It's not the movies this was used in, according to Wikipedia at least.

@CKL
The music is reminiscent of L'execution from the City of Lost Children soundtrack IMO

So is CircleCityCon still going or no? #infosec
Where does relik/HackingDave hang now?
@stux those people ain't living in Berlin, nobody here would ever look around when something like this happens
@stux nothing like a good musical flash mob
@stux it makes me anxious seeing nobody with a mask on, wonder if that will ever go away
@maxthyme @stux same. I'm just walking around like the Hulk the past few years, barely simmering rage when people assert I wear a mask because of 'anxiety'. No, I get nightmares and panic attacks because of anxiety.
I wear a mask because long covid stole a year of my gd life and I don't wish that on anyone.
@stux if anyone's wondering: this is Shostokovich's Suite for Jazz orchestra No. 2, Op. 50b, No 2, Waltz
@stux But I was looking forward to the epic tuba solo. 😅
@stux music, movement and dance ☺️
@stux Wish we could have heard the entire thing..
@stux This is why I love Mastodon.
@stux Also familiar from “Bad Santa”. Gorgeous waltz.

@stux I just want to know where all these public spaces are where you can just find a nice new piano to sit down at and play. (I've seen several other videos like this...)

(Also, nobody seems to be masking -- when was this recorded?)

@stux It reminded me of the intro music to the series "Good Omens", and I had to verify they weren't the same. Very similar, though, both being waltzes.
@stux Kind of surreal - the piano player / organizer is my nephew. He puts on these kinds of performances fairly regularly around Indiana University in Bloomington.

@stux

Stopped too soon. :(

@stux love musical flash mobs!
@stux
So cool. And a nice melody (what ever it is)
@stux Obviously carefully planned. I wish they'd stop pretending otherwise when posting videos like this. Still a nice thing to do.
@stux A bit sad in my opinion that it was on an airport. I would find it nice for maybe homeless people (I know there are some musicians who did that).

Still very well made
:bocchi_ryo_thumbs_up:

@stux And they finally win over the little girl at 1:21. Just imagine the happy memory they gave that girl for the rest of her life.

Kudos.

@stux

Wonderful !!

So sad, it ends abruptly.
A great Experience in 3D-Music coming from all Sides of the Airport.

@stux so much beautiful atmosphere and the most beautiful thing is the surprise

@stux

Shostakovitch was a chain-smoker and football fan.

@stux this makes everyone happy 😃
@stux Makes me happy, too. I lived In Indianapolis and traveled through the terminal many times. Never got serenaded, though.
