@sam asks:

Q3. Do you have any bicycle related podcasts to recommend?

What do you like about them?

#BikeNite #BikeNiteQ

@ascentale @sam #BikeNite A3. It might make me boring, but... nope. I'm not much of a podcast person.
@panasaurusrex @ascentale @sam A3: I'm the same. There's got to be something great about podcasts, but I just can't get myself to listen to any. I'd much rather read about cycling stuff, or from time to time, watch YouTube videos. #BikeNite
@daihard @ascentale @panasaurusrex @sam Interesting. I used to feel the same about podcasts, but have really grown to like the format over the last few years. I find it similar to good YT, but is something I can do w/o sitting in front of screen - like when doing chores.
@daihard @ascentale @panasaurusrex @sam Not sure if the questioner approves, but seems like good YT channels might qualify as answers for this question.

@ascentale @sam Escape Collective [1] has a number of podcasts that are nice to listen to, but the one I like the most is the members bonus episodes of Geek Warning because it's usually more about #BikeWrench ing. Otherwise, it's in German, but I like Ostwärts nach Westen [2] following a couple (iirc) that did a huge bike tour around Europe.

@ascentale @sam A3) I don’t! I tend to listen to a lot of audiobooks and a few tech and arts and crafts podcasts here and there. Currently listening to the Dresden files audiobooks. #BikeNite
@ascentale @sam A3. Here are mine:
War on Cars - great variety of topics related to making our streets safer
All Bodies on Bikes - Wonderful podcast with greater focus on communities that haven't historically been very well served by cycling industry or advocacy groups.
Phil Gaimon - ex-road pro who's made a name getting lots of KOMs. I appreciate that he stays humble and doesn't exude the hollier than thou attitude that racers are somtimes known for. He does touch on safe streets topics.

A3.

My 2 favorite audio streams about bicycling are "Bike Life" done by the Warm Showers organization and "All Bodies On Bikes" because it's actually what the title says.

First one because that organization helped me so much on my 2016 Underground Railroad Bicycle Tour.

Second one because I am a heavy utilitarian bicyclist and they understand the irrational hostility I've had to deal with.

I listen to "The War On Cars" episodes I'm interested in, not every one.

@cainmark @ascentale @sam thanks for the All Bodies on Bikes recommendation; that sounds great!

@ascentale I think the only one that I already know about that others haven't already mentioned in this thread is "Bike Talk"! I love all the interviews with bike and transit people all over the palce (but mostly with a U.S. focus, sorry everyone else!):

Bike Talk - A radio show dedicated to the idea that for public and planetary health we need to prioritize public transportation by bikes

@ascentale @sam A3. I miss the Bike Nerds podcast. They covered a good range of guests and topics (disclosure: they interviewed me for an episode). Went looking for their archives https://amp.listennotes.com/podcasts/the-bike-nerds-the-oam-network-I9FesAcuGwE/amp/ and got reminded of The Spokesmen https://www.the-spokesmen.com/bikenerds/.
