It's remarkable how Google slowly went from the font of all information to a not-great search engine where you had to wade through garbage to find what you needed to, suddenly, plummeting off a cliff to absolute shit.
@keirFox I wonder how much of AI (right now) is happening because it's in vogue, and how much will still be used after the novelty has worn off.

@Intaglio_Dragon The problem is they are feeding AI *everything*. Had someone just fed it Wikipedia, an old encyclopedia set, or the non-fiction contents of research papers and the Library of Congress, we'd be in a really good place right now.

Instead, the idiots pointed it at the likes of web forums, fan fiction sites, other AI generated content, and Reddit. So now every joke, amusing embellished story, and sarcastic comment is now digested into the models and presented as fact.

Why the fuck anyone would think that is a good idea is baffling.

@keirFox This could just be the cynic in me, but pointing it at a lot of low-quality human-generated content will train the AI to produce results that look more convincingly human-made, in order to fool people.
