Friday was awards day for the International Science and Engineering Fair — in Los Angeles this year. We've (family's) been involved in regional feeder fairs leading up to ISEF for nearly half a century. I was a competitor once, then when we moved and the local fairs were without institutional backers for about two decades, Mom kept it afloat. That really was an amazing effort. Glad we honor her memory with an award now.
