If you #bike in #Baltimore, you might be interested to know that Margo Bruner-Settles's anti-bike-lane billboard truck ran a red light in front of me today.

@Tevis Even if you can’t ride a bike, imagine seeing THAT truck driving around and thinking that’s better for traffic/safety than bicycles.

@Tevis Okay I am NOT from Baltimore but who the fudge i against BIKE LANES?

I can get people being against closing up entire streets, but to convert space to bike lanes? That usually do not mean interfering with actual traffic?

@WhyNotZoidberg A lot of folks fixate on parking, and the perception that bike lanes interfere with parking. What few protected bike lanes we have in Baltimore are parking-protected.
@Tevis @WhyNotZoidberg also bike lanes are often part of road diets. Losing driving lanes makes many drivers upset. WhyNotZoiberg, you are lucky to live somewhere no one complains about bike lanes. They do it all the time in the US.
@Tevis Stay safe out there!
@jspath55 I always try to. Would be easier with more bike lanes!
@Tevis Look, they have to be continuously on the move or it's possible that some bikers might not be hit by them. This entire concept is antithetical to them!
@Tevis Maybe they should focus on replacing that 5-ball traffic light like the MUTCD suggests they do
@momo Then we can have a brand new traffic sign or signal for drivers to ignore!

@Tevis

The most confusing thing to me is - someone thinks this is a good look. The idea was floated and nobody had the balls to say "you know, that's going to inevitably mean even more mixing of bike and auto traffic, and that's unpopular for lots of good reasons". No wonder they're going extinct.
