Okay, I'm getting really sick of these contrarians in YouTube comments insulting #NicoleBrownSimpson and #RonGoldman and their families. Even if they got involved with #OJSimpson because of his money or other dumb theories, so what? Nobody deserves to be massacred the way they were. Yes, OJ was charming, talented, handsome, gregarious and athletic... But he was still a murderer. I wish something could have stopped him but he was seriously sick in a way that's difficult to treat.
Tbh if I'd been his counsel (or just consulted on it) I might've suggested #OJSimpson plead guilty by reason of insanity, but I know with his ego he likely wouldn't consider it even if it could improve his reputation. Also I'm not sure if a lawyer in 1994/1995 would know about CTE and other cerebral damage that can happen after a lengthy football career. But I guess I just wish someone could have floated the idea to him.
Omg I just started #TheRunOfHisLife by #JeffreyToobin and in the prologue, #JohnnieCochran says the same thing to friends about #OJSimpson's double homicide charge. He thought OJ should've taken a diminished capacity plea... But after speaking with him, Cochran saw OJ would *not* plead guilty, even if it could improve his reputation and give him a shorter prison sentence. Just admit you are sick and your mind cannibalized itself from blows to the head. But no, he couldn't admit that.
And #OJSimpson trying to persue "the real killers" is honestly like watching hall monitor #SpongeBob persue the Bikini Bottom Maniac. Or #Oedipus trying to prevent himself from killing his father and wedding his mother after consulting the oracle.
