@markgurman calling the M4 iPad Pro:
@gruber From less than two months ago: “As I’ve written several times, Apple is preparing to launch revamped iPad Pros, new iPad Airs (including a 12.9-inch version), a Magic Keyboard and upgraded Apple Pencil. Look for that new hardware around the end of March or in April, as that’s when the accompanying iPadOS 17.4 software should be ready to go." https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2024-03-10/what-did-the-apple-car-look-like-inside-apple-s-planned-self-driving-vehicle-ltlic8vt
What Did the Apple Car Look Like? Inside Apple’s Planned Self-Driving Vehicle

The Apple car was a case study in what happens when corporate indecision, technological challenges and market realities combine: a wasted opportunity that sets back the company’s future. Also: New MacBook Air models debut with M3 chips; the Vision Pro works out some kinks; and Apple (briefly) risks getting itself fined again in the EU.

Bloomberg
@gruber Removes a lot of bombast from Sep & Oct announcements.
@satpalram @gruber Unless … They announce the M5??
@gruber @markgurman It sure is future-proof now though. Doubt they'll touch it for another 2 years at least.
@bshanks @markgurman Makes me wonder if the iPad Air will go to M3 next year, or stand pat for 18-24 months and move straight to M4.
@gruber @markgurman Surprising and impressive but also feels like dropping a V12 into a Buick.
@gruber @markgurman I think it’s now safe to say the Mac Studio and Mac Pro will be announced (likely at WWDC) with the M4 Max and M4 Ultra so they are “more powerful” than the MacBook Pro to juice the high-end desktop sales.
