While I don't pretend to understand enough about Scottish politics to offer any hot takes on #Yousaf's resignation in the Scottish context, I do very much hope, for the UK, that the #SNP remains a credible political force after whatever happens next.

While Sunak's Blue Tories winning the next UK GE would be disastrous, it would also be bad if Starmer's Red Tories were to get a thumping majority. A strong SNP makes that less likely.

@statsguy Speaking as someone who lives in Scotland: the Bute House agreement with the Greens and the very thin bare minimum actions being taken towards mitigating environmental damage in Scotland were basically the SNP's sole electoral appeal. And that's all gone now.
