When I got to Trier, the next #train alternative was the “Eifel-Express” going north to Gerolstein in the “Vulkan-Eifel” region. Sadly, no smoking mountains or rivers of lava. This is the “no” in “volcano” #disappoint
But there was “Vulkan-Torte” 🌋
The other train alternative (for me) from Trier would have been towards Saarbrücken.
