#fritzbox #avm

I just moved my #fritzbox7490 location to find out that the #avm repeaters obviously do not extend the #dect station function in their #mash .

The #dect #phone either directly connects to the #fritzbox or loses connection.

Is this expected behavior?

Or am I missing some configuration?

Was not aware of this.

@Billie Yes, Fritz!Repeaters only repeat WiFi.

As far as I know, only the dedicated Fritz!DECT 100 can repeat DECT signals. Even another Fritz!Box is not capable of that, it can only add another DECT base station, but the phones have to be moved manually from one to the other.

@aserraric @Billie uh.. using another FritzBox for repeating dect for ages.

That does work but is usually more expensive.

I got several because.. reasons.

@bekopharm @Billie I have two FritzBoxen, and I could not get the second one to work as a DECT repeater for the first. If you have any clues on how to achieve that, I'd be very interested.

@aserraric @Billie I just checked and apparently that feature was dropped with the current line o0

It used to work just fine with 6.20(?) before they added the Mesh functionality.

Sorry for the confusion.

@aserraric @bekopharm This does not seem possible with newer boxes/firmwares.

I now bought an #avm dect 100 repeater for approx. 67€ and it works like expected.

@aserraric @Billie
May co-worker used a 7390 for repeating dect signals. This Box has reached end of live. With a 7490 this is not possible anymore.
The WLAN-Mesh reapeaters work only for WLAN, depending on the type only 2,4GHz or also 5GHz
Fritz!dect 100 is for DECT only works in my net, also with smart home stuff from #avm
@red_rooster @aserraric thanks for the clarification! I already ordered one and will pick it up today.

@Billie @aserraric

This is how it should look in a Mesh with a Fritz!dect100

@red_rooster @aserraric did not check yet in the ui, but it works.

@red_rooster @aserraric

I just confirmed in the ui, and yes, the dect handheld connects like expected to the dect 100 repeater 👍

@Billie I think you'd need explicit DECT repeaters. In my normal repeaters I don't see a DECT option.
@Billie my experience with DECT repeaters is they can often lose the link to the main base station, its worth checking that this hasn't happened (but are these DECT repeaters or Wifi? AVM seem to sell both and it appears the wifi repeaters don't also provide DECT service)

@vfrmedia

yes, that what it looks like: I have two #avm #wifi repeaters, and I thought they also extend the #dect range, but obviously they do not.

@Billie Yes that is correct. Those are _WLAN_ repeaters, not DECT.
