#seattle folks, did you know that many people here in our region don't know that the #amtrak #cascades even exists?

Most people I talk to don't even know it's an option, that Vancouver is 2.5 hours and Portland is 4, most think sitting on I5 is the only way to get there. We're blessed with one of the few #rail cooridors with decent service. Next time you hear someone is heading out, ask them if they'll #gobytrain

@seattleswiftie As a Europhile I love trains. I used to take Tri-Rail (not comfortable or fast) to go to Ft Lauderdale or Miami airports/events from West Palm Beach. Brightline high speed trains make it comfy (even slightly luxurious) and cut the time in half. Friends question why. Because spending hours stressing on I95 and putting my life in danger is not convenient or comforting.
@RevLindsay that's wonderful to hear! In this country people are conditioned that driving=freedom, but it's just not true. True freedom is having a rail option, and you hit the nail on the head. I want the choice to NOT have to drive. I'm very happy for Brightline's success, it proves itself over and over, if you build it well - people will use it.
