A Palestinian health official told the AP that the tent camp was being set up to house displaced people who are currently sheltering in a hospital and is not related to the impending Israeli military operation against Rafah.
More than half of the Palestinian territory’s population of 2.3 million have sought refuge in Rafah and humanitarian aid workers and foreign governments are warning of a catastrophe should Israeli troops invade the area.
