A Russian special-ops group ambushed a group of Ukrainian officers near #Slovyansk. Ukrainians had the orders "not to respond". Captain Hennadiy #Bilichenko was killed on the spot. Three others were badly wounded. Lieutenant Vadym #Sukharevsky shot back
Between getting slaughtered and disobeying orders he chose the latter ⏩
↪ On the next day, #Ukraine heard the intercepted phone call of the Russian @FSB officer #IgorGirkin / #Strelkov with his #Moscow handler Aleksandr #Borodai. #Strelkov reported that his group had killed "someone big"
Actually he didn't say "killed" - he said "minced" ("покрошили"), as if these weren't people, but some kind of meat. “Good job”, #Borodai responded, “what a good way to celebrate a holy day!”
It was a #PalmSunday, a big deal for Orthodox Christians ⏩
↪ That was the moment of truth. “Brotherly #Ukraine” was meat to them, ready to be "minced". Killing them was a good way to celebrate a holy day
And it was Vadym #Sukharevsky who decided: not on my watch!

↪ PS. Later, #Girkin_Strelkov and #Borodai, two #Moscow born russian nationalists became the founding fathers of so-called #Donetsk People’s Republic #DPR - and of “Ukrainian separatism” altogether
#Strelkov is in jail now, for bragging too openly about his role in those events and criticizing #putin, who, in his opinion, is not ruthless enough
As to #Borodai, he was awarded richly for starting a war, became a member of #RussianDuma, bought a posh apartment in #Dubai. His life is good.
