The prompt is High

Thievery Corporation, “Lebanese Blonde” from “The Mirror Conspiracy,” 2000

Lyric:
“Too low to find my way
Too high to wonder why
I've touched this place before
Somewhere in another time
Now I can hear the sun”

#ThieveryCorporation might not be the household name that fellow #downtempo practitioners #MassiveAttack have become, but they are nevertheless global superstars in the world of downtempo. The lyrics above aptly describe their music; unlike the moody darkness of #TripHop, Thievery Corp's music is imbued with warmth via #reggae, Brazilian, Middle Eastern, and Indian influences.

Founders #EricHilton and #RobGarza busy themselves as DJs, producers, record label impresarios, and solo recording artists, but it’s as Thievery Corporation that they rose to prominence, and that I know and love them best.

Sass Jordan started out working with Montreal artists like Bündock, The Box, and Michael Breen before starting her solo career. At the beginning she straddled the line between rock and new wave, but by "Rats", her third album, she was firmly into rock. And, as this song demonstrates, she could really wail.
