A person at @datadon might take the time to compute a comparison of emissions and population footprints. Here is data: https://human-settlement.emergency.copernicus.eu/datasets.php

What is available is to look at the map of emissions density at https://mas.to/@maugendre/112189998576957832 and the below map of population density.

The previous comparison of two maps shows similar to a study of Per Capita CO2 Emissions:
Oil-producing countries in the Persian Gulf are the highest expellents of CO2 per person, followed by developed countries like the #USA, #Australia, #NewZealand, and #Canada: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/visualizing-global-per-capita-co2-emissions/

Visualizing Global Per Capita CO2 Emissions

33.6 Gt of CO2 was emitted across the world in 2019. Here we visualize the global per capita CO2 emissions by country and region.

NATO countries are forcing #climate, study shows

Many activities continue to send carbon in the air. #CO2 output forces climate change. The Greenhouse Forcing project has just calculated the amounts in 2024.
Energy is extracted notably by investor-owned companies based in NATO countries at 5.6 G/year. The biggest corporate contributors are ExxonMobil, Shell, BP.
Following The Paris Agreement, countries should decrease #carbon #emissions by 2% year on year.
