here's hoping! π€
Remember this if they come scuttling back later this year.
Fuck these guys....
and that is the sound of taking people for granted, ignoring them, even at times vilifying them with the Right Wing Press.
if the voting system weren't so bent the Greens could take these seats. All power to them.

@Lazarou itβll be interesting. Our labour MP did get a big majority in 2019, but
-boundaries have shifted east a bit
-growing student population with turnover of 3-4 years=> less loyalty. LD in 2010
-unknown enthusiasm for Starmer amongst a student cohort
-a clear choice of labour vs green means voting for either means change
+likelihood of Green councillors retaining their seats next month
Only seen a couple of green posters up, but not seen anyone elseβs at all

@stevel @Lazarou I think that the assessment by that anonymous Labour strategist is probably correct: this is going to be a significant challenge for Labour in not this, but the following, general election.
Right now they can probably afford to lose some urban progressive voters, but the order of magnitude of that problem will be completely different once they're in government and need to persuade people to vote *for* them rather than just *against* an unpopular Conservative government.
