#Cortisone is highly effective at inhibiting the immune system – but how does it do it? A team from #CharitéBerlin & @FAU now shows @Nature that cortisone reprograms the metabolism of immune cells, activating a natural inflammatory “brake” present in the body. Based on their findings, the researchers now plan to develop anti-inflammatory treatments lower in side effects.
