This really is a bad week for #journalism in #NZ. Today, Newshub announces closure, and we await the fate of the #TVNZ Sunday programme, after yesterday, TVNZ confirmed the loss of benchmark consumer affairs programme #FairGo and other news programmes 🥺

And as expected, #NZ #journalism suffers even further, with the loss of #TVNZ’s flagship Sunday documentary show will also be cut, as surprises exactly on-one, after they already cut Fair Go and non-prime #news bulletins yesterday. 😖

I fear for democracy under this new news desert we will be living in. This new coalition is seeming to reduce oversight, and we just will not be told about it. I do hope some local guardian angel billionaire type buys up the remains of our news industry, and creates some kind of blind trust to run it. We really did lose out when NZAP closed.
