Arg how long before news articles stop embedding X Tweets with media that cannot be viewed without an account?
You cannot use it as a public hosting service!

@micheleann

Yep. Best to screenshot the single view tweet, no replies shown because the CTO is a moron who ' thinks limiting ad views is good for business' then link to the tweet in the image for the images source reference, but host the image instead of driving traffic to that GFY site.

They changed their no login view tweet policy in June of 2023 to limit views to one tweet and zero replies unless you log in. #ratelimited #advertising

@infosec_jcp but the tweet isn't even the news in these cases! Why include a reference to Twitter at all? Just report the actual thing!

@micheleann

Well that is just poor reporting and not even showing the tweet but typing it instead so as to _not_ drive traffic to a thing? Maybe it was just reporting on something for later MBA study? Odd news reporting init?

Guess they listened and followed the GFY rate limiting enshitification strategy some Doctor Doctored iGuess?

Why look at how the CEO had to try and bring advertising back! For charity? Obviously some Red nose initiative or something before she joined Xitter. Charity work I tell you! Charity!!! ☑️🤡

@micheleann i find most embedded tweets are rendered fine within the article, even video is playable but Insta has issues. Maybe its my ad/tracking settings. It is wild how much usage twitter still has. Will be curious if Threads generates any change.
