Any #Civ6 fans oyut there? Not my most played #CivilizationGame , but I vaguely know it's pros and cons.

Been decades since I've played a game so intensily as I now am playing #Humankind . One more turn unrtil 7.30AM last night. Not kidding,a 50yo me getting really hooked on a videogame again.

This is the game #Civ6 should have been. Everything is a bit better so far, but the main advance is on the batlles. Just spent couple of hours getting a city from russians and loved every minute of it.

My main problem with Civ6 was that it was always too easy or too hard for me depending on the difficulty level so I never got round to playing it that much. Here I started easy to learn the ropes and I still got sucked in.

Also the full edition is now on sale on #HumbleBundle 's monthly subcription.

Much recommended.

@WalluValkama I completely agree that the battles are more interesting but it has enough downsides that I stopped playing. Donโ€™t get me wrong, HK is incredibly pleasantly surprisingly good.

The logic for district placement is funky. Not a dealbreaker but after my 9th commercial district it gets tiring.

The logic for keeping captured cities after war, even after updates, is frustrating.

The religion aspect makes any version of civ look well-polished.

The fact that land units can sink sea units with relative ease is nonsensical. And it used to be worse.

The wonder system feels unfinished. And the achievement is bugged.

I had soooooo much hope. I wanted it to replace civ. But it fell short and the updates felt insignificant. I still like HK better than most strategy games, but civ is my one true love.

@Oreoshake Ok, maybe I spoke too soon and I really haven't played eithetr game that much, but still hyped me out of my a**, which Civ6 didn't. Just in this, for a nort regular 4X-player, the challenge is uch more on the spot without having to memorize every single step on the path (my friend lets me know everything he does on Civ6 on hardest. ๐Ÿ˜Š) Also the planning of battles seem more important done this way.

But yeah, not an expert on either game, so I might have spoken out of my expertise here.

@WalluValkama Iโ€™m just some rando on the internet who follows hashtags and all that matters is that youโ€™re having fun! I hope you continue enjoying HK and maybe one day youโ€™ll find the same joy in civ6 (or civ7!)
@WalluValkama For me Old World scratched the same itch better than Humankind although it was pretty good too ๐Ÿ™‚ Old World has the benefit of being designed by Soren Johnson (Civ IV) and soundtracked by Christopher Tin ๐Ÿ‘
@jk Ok. I had Brave New World (was it) with the enviromental aspect and then I stopped playing Civ6 so maybe I should check out that one too. (Or just wait for Civ7 being on sale... ๐Ÿ˜Š)
