My #EV wishlist: 1/3
- Acceleration sufficient to merge and pass safely, but short of what's needed to achieve orbital velocity.
- Electric windows, but mechanical doors. Because I might need to get out in a hurry.
- Buttons and switches. Touchscreen optional, but used only when the vehicle is not in motion.
- A decent infotainment system. Flexibility to use third-party UIs like CarPlay and Google Auto.
My EV wishlist: 2/3
- 300-mile range, because I live on the West Coast and distances can be great. Fuel-powered range extenders are an option.
- Four doors and room for four adults plus a few bags. Because I'm American.
- Safety-first design that accounts for chance encounters with pedestrians and cyclists.
- Styling that looks like a vehicle, not a dumpster.
- Built by UAW members in the U.S.
- No ties to racists.
@deanbetz I had a similar list to you and ended up with a used #BoltEV. Realistic range is ~250 miles, but I’m planning some 300+ mile trips, and chargers are plentiful in the West, I hope. Hoping to read some good books while I wait for its slow “fast” charger, too.
