What started as #MarkZuckerberg 's student website in 2004, has morphed into one of the world's most dangerous #corporations.
So this may sound naive ... but we could help fight Facebook simply by saying "STOP"!

I'll explain: Under European law, we have the right to demand that Facebook stop using our personal #data for "direct marketing purposes" -- think of highly #PersonalisedAds and recommendations. And the #law also says that Facebook can't charge us extra to exercise that right. Serious violations of data protection law could cost Facebook billions -- but #authorities need evidence to act. And that's where we come in:

Tip: #Meta (Facebook's parent company) might reply to complain that there's an online form for this sort of thing, but that's strictly optional. The #law doesn't say we need to use online forms to object. So long as you have emailed the company from the email address registered with your #Facebook or #Instagram account, that should be proof enough.

#Meta says you can go ad-free for a monthly fee if you want, but it's the gigantic #surveillance machine #illegally processing our #PersonalData that's the main problem, and the company's phoney new "pay-or-consent" offer does nothing to fix that.
