I couldn’t remember a piece of #PostgreSQL array syntax so I searched Google.

The first result is some AI spam page. The result provided on it is incorrect; it’s the MySQL answer, though also not quite correct.

The Internet is going to be killed and it will be AI spam that kills it.

#AI #LLMs #spam

@lorddimwit I’ve started including before:2023 in searches to avoid the AI detritus.
@lorddimwit already been happening for a few years ☹
@mirabilos @lorddimwit Dubious silver lining: makes knowing stuff valuable.
@lorddimwit Google search will be killed, but the internet will survive, and the web and Google will probably both survive as well
@lorddimwit Yeah but if you’d asked ChatGPT it could have given you the wrong answer so much more conveniently. In fact, many IDEs can now insert the wrong code automatically to save you from having to copy and paste. This is such a valuable feature that every commercial IDE now has it.
@lorddimwit I recommend just going to postgresql’s homepage and their docs. I usually find what I want there, and it’s documentation instead of a loose conversation with no actual credentials (possibly made up by a machine).
