“Yesterday I adopted the oldest, sickest and sorest shelter dog. I'll never forget his eyes. When I went into the cage he didn't even bother to look. The volunteer asked me many times ‘Are you sure this one?’ YES! This is my dog. He opened the cage and I ran towards him. He looked at me as if he saw an angel.
I hugged him and told him that now he'll be happy again. Then he sleeps in my lap, probably the first peaceful sleep he ever had.
From a dad who saved a soul.”

Aww. I adopted an old, overweight dog some years ago. Nobody wanted her. Oh, how I loved her, and oh, how she loved me. It was one of the best things I ever did, for both of us.

God bless that poster and his precious good boy ❤️

@PricklyPam @BrianJopek awww 🥰
No one wanted my tortie who was only 2 when I got her. I adopted her for her 2nd time from the pound.
The level of trust & love she has for me can’t be measured.
@PricklyPam @BrianJopek I took home a fat leaky exhausted puppy mill cocker spaniel from a shelter kill line, bathed her, fed her properly, put her on a 50 cent medicine for her bladder, & had the cutest little curly ballplayer in the world for the last 2.5 years of her precious little life. Would do it again, no question.

Same. Kaz was 11 when her owner went into assisted living and surrendered her to county shelter after months of trying to place her. She was miserable. We fostered to get her out of there. She and I became inseperable. I loved her. I have never felt that about the 5 other dogs we've had (3 rescues). I liked them a lot. Enjoyed them. I loved Kaz.

@BrianJopek the dividends you will receive from your investment are beyond measure.
@BrianJopek I love the old fuzz ball we just rescued. He's had a terrible life before, but we plan to spoil this love bug for as long as he is with us!
@BrianJopek
My parents did that when I was little. When the poo & mats were cleaned off & he got a vet visit, it turned out he was a 2 year old, purebred miniature (not toy) poodle. The stiffness and lethargy were kennel shock. Great dog.

🥥 God bless everyone everywhere who's ever rescued an animal or child from cruelty. 🥥
@BrianJopek This brought tears to my eyes. So many people want puppies or younger dogs they ignore the older one. That poor baby probably gave up hope of ever finding a forever home. Thank the angels above for him finding his.
@mooseandriosmom Made this grumpy old NCO cry a little as well
@BrianJopek @mooseandriosmom Bless you, Brian. I lost my sweet baby of 16 years two weeks ago and I’m still shattered. I rescued her ten years ago and we both had the best happily ever after. ❤️
