That's really funny! I looked up the recommened value of the transformer (12V AC) for the #Robotron #Z1013 in the manual. Up to 20W, means 1,66A. I measured the board without any extensions with 38mA at 12V. Seems like they put a β€œbit” of buffer in there. Maybe for short circuits.

Hmm, that's really too low if it is a classical robotron Z1013 . Because they use ttl-Logic . Is it a remake with cmos ? Real current consumption should be around 0,65 mA.
@ShinjiLE You are totally right. I remeasured with the same meter and used the 20A plug for currency. Now it displays ~0.7A. Seems the 0-2000mA input displays crap. And no, it isn't a CMOS rebuild, all ttl are original GDR/Russian production.
