Wow this is the most validating email I've ever received!

Hi Alice,

I'm a non-Autistic ADHDer with an Autistic family. I'm also a neuropsychologist who spends most of my time teaching other healthcare professionals how to recognize the less obvious presentations of autism. I've written two books on this topic and do a lot of talks and podcasts. Somehow I came across your research on self-identification and I'm really impressed. I just wanted to reach out to tell you that. You have done a remarkable job with a complicated topic!

Warm regards,

I'd love it if you'd check it out! πŸ₯° https://codeberg.org/alicewatson/asd-self-dx/src/branch/main --- Update: I replaced the header image, now people can complain about the actual research instead of the thumbnail. Also, before any more guys respond with gatekeepy opinions about my conclusions, try reading the paper first. --- @[email protected] #ActuallyAutistic #Autism #ASD #Trans #SelfDiagnosis #SelfDX #SelfDxIsValid #Research #Codeberg

@alice I know who wrote this! She was on the phone with my dear spouse when I read this post!
@alice wow! This resource is really helpful! I'll share with people considering a diagnosis. My main hesitation with suggesting people seek one is money and wait. I wanted the validation, but now I've got it, it was so obvious to me that it was a non-event. Relief at being believed and finally conforming the "answer" to my struggles. In some ways I could have saved the cash and time if I trusted my own reality more... sigh. Self dx shows strength and is valid imo!
