#Cat friends of Mastodon, this is Nillabean. He requires surgery to survive, and the vet isn’t willing to work out a payment plan with his human. The fundraiser is about $4,000 short of goal right now. Nillabean’s person and some friends have been offering commissions to try to raise money, but with little effect, and time is running out. @greene I suspect they are ripping you off, make sure vets in other areas dont have much better rates. (~$700)

@RueNahcMohr This isn’t my fundraiser, and the person whose it is has already shopped around. I would be very surprised, based on my experiences, if it were possible to get significant veterinary surgery (plus resulting inpatient stay) for just $700. When my cat needed surgery similar to this one, the vet gave discounts because they cared about him and knew we were poor, and it was still over $4,000. The only other local vet quoted us $10,000.
