We added this sardine patรฉ into the assortment.
It's a tiny tin flavored with a bit of tomato paste, vinegar, white pepper, and salt. We added capers. It also paired well with olives.
How could this only cost $3? It traveled so far!

Another fun tin!
This one has larger pieces of fish, with a bit of a spice kick in the dip-worthy oil.
I really like the seasonings from this brand.

Here's a tin of herring from Germany. It comes in a larger size.
The texture of this fish is both firmer and flakier than the the texture of sardines and mackerel.
The creamy mustard sauce has a slight sweetness - We incorporated it into deviled eggs (adding lemon and capers). YUM.

A jar instead of a tin.
This one is tuna, slightly dry, in a flavorful oil. So we broke it into flakes and poured with the oil into a sauce for pasta, adding a sautรฉe of garlic, arugula, lemon, capers, butter, and spices. And parm.
SO YUM

I really like these sardines from the corner store! ๐
Good flavor and texture. Simply yum on toast with the oil.
And the little chickens by the pull tab - so cute.
This one is so wonderful!
I love the modern packaging.
The contents are fragrant!
Apparently this brand has many varieties, each one shown by the color dot.

This is a little different.
The tin contains little metal forks!
It was a present from my sister who knows I love tinned fish. ๐ค

These are tiny fish, really tender because no bones or skin.
Since they are softer, we enjoyed them mashed up with a bit of Papalote Grill's roasted tomato habanero salsa on Have'A Corn Chips.

These are the Nuri Extra Spiced sardines
and YES they are more fiery than the Spiced ones!
Was thinking of saving the oil to cook with but there ended up being none... ๐

Back after a short pause for the 17th entry in the #TinnedFishDiary
These are SO GOOD.
Very simple - just the sardines in oil - but the flavor and texture are perfect!
I just ate these on their own, straight from the tin. ๐

Tinned salmon with a weird cartoon box graphic
The fish was impossibly tender and delicately smoked (I was just at the Everett&Jones - seriously smoky in there!).
I devoured these with some noodles because I was so hungry but they would have been even better on a cracker for the crispiness.
These sardines were a total splurge and SO good. They are the tails, grilled and smoked, in marinade sauce.
I devoured all of them right from the tin and I want more! It made me feel better that the label says 1 serving size per container! ๐

(It's been awhile...)
Another splurge-y tin of sardines.
Tiny perfect fish tails in a super-subtle and light lemon sauce.
Delectable yet substantial!
I enjoyed these with Espinaler olives.
My daughter is raising my #TinnedFishDiary game!
Here's her diary entry for these sardines she found at Waitrose! Her photos show the plated presentation. ๐
"Okay overall these were really good. Very firm. I ate them with toast and olives. The fish donโt have much of the flavor from the spicy oil but the oil is really good soaked with bread."
The design on the tins is wonderful.
Hopefully more soon from #BestGuestDiarist
This entry in the #TinnedFishDiary is about a product from China!
The #ChineseDiaspora will recognize this elongate oval tin. I grew up enjoying fried dace and black beans served over rice right from the 79ยข tin. ๐
I tried it a fancier way w/ veg, inspired by this IG post : https://www.instagram.com/reel/C34lJzzvKCc/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
I used the "spicy" tin today, but I also love the original Fried Dace with Salted Black Beans.
The fish has a slightly hard, dry-ish texture. The salty black beans are plentiful.
YUMMY!
This one is so good. Aรงor again for a win.
Tinned tuna belly in perfect neat slices, so flavorful and moist - I enjoyed this fish straight from the tin, with toast. ๐
I saw a slightly negative review of these Moroccan sardines in a recent article but I really liked them! I'll definitely look for these again! They were really inexpensive.
Large pieces of fish in the spiciest oil I've found in a tin of fish this far... Yum!
That looks amazing!
