I ended up designing a spacer in #Freecad and 3D printing it on my #mars3pro. The printer is great except for the supports side. I haven't used it in like 4 months I had to return the resin that was there into its bottle. It's actually reassuring that the resin just sort of lasts. I got gallons of it from my wife's Christmas thing she wanted me to print for her. I designed on #ubuntu but then #lychee wanted my to sign up, I said fuck you. And #chitubox #segfaulted so I jumped on #windows.
The #SLA #3Dprinting situation on #Linux sucks balls. It's always some shit. If I build my #rig using #intel #CPU or #GPU, I have to wait 4 or 5 years for #drivers to be created by some #genius #highschool kid. Ofcourse Intel is not going to make anything compatible with Linux so they gotta put some fucking limit like you can use 50% of the speed but you need to run speed.sh every time you start. And fuck your wifi. Yeah it's integrated but buy a new card. With #AMD it's #nvidia driver problems
But you know what? I'm never going back to #intel #CPUs. And this little story is just so you guys know why I have to keep windows around. I literally have a #CAD folder so I can do cad there, and that's it.
It's time for #opensource to drop #microsoft like the piece of shit it is. Just give me a working SLA slicer for my printer. Fuck #elegoo. They promised it was opensource, I bought the printer and they flipped everyone off. Now lychee is compatible but I gotta sign up to use it???? WTF!
