“The source of power in the country is the Russian people,” says President Putin in his victory speech following an election in which no viable candidate was allowed to oppose him.
@w7voa lol
@rob11563 @w7voa
We really need to develop a different term for the forced popularity polls that the dictators get our media to call elections. I hate the way that our media reports just what the dictators want them to so often.
@w7voa That's actually correct. It's just he refers to a very narrow list of people.
@w7voa he didn't say there was a lot of power, just that is what the source of it is.
@w7voa of all the fascinating and bizarre photos about this election in which the major opposition candidate was murdered by the regime one month ago and another conveniently imprisoned, this image stands out for so many reasons:
@w7voa Vinnie Poo sums it up best

@w7voa

And this will be donald if we let him

@martlund @w7voa It's been Republicanism for a while, now. No one really questioned when Paul Wellstone's plane went down. Two Kennedy boys killed by right-wingers. Do I need to mention "bloodbath?" In the late 80's Donald said he was a Democrat. He's an expert at exploiting vulnerabilities, and the Right's tendency toward gunning down opponents was just waiting for him to grab.

Demoralized GenZ is saying they'll vote for him if TikTok gets banned "under Biden."

@w7voa Amazingly enough this would be Trump's exact acceptance speech as well.
The Russian people don't have a choice, we still do.

*no viable candidate was allowed to live.

@w7voa "They let you do it."

There are a whole lot of demoralized voters who won't fight. There are also a lot of mis/dis/uniformed citizens who could know better if the right people engaged with them. There are also folks who don't care as long as they end up on the "winning" side.

Women who are brave enough to speak on it have a keen insight on this.
