I wanted to become more familiar using my sewing machine, so after a short course and endless hours of vids on YT, I cut up some fabrics in smaller strips and squares (even using the Pythagorean theorem on triangles).

It's greens all the way, trying my hand at pinwheels and St Louis 16 blocks (yes, I'm also picking up quilting lingo).

No idea yet what the end product will be, but for now I'm getting my mileage on the machine which I need for a future project.

And the stitches continue.

I am quite happy with how I managed to keep the pieces of fabric fairly aligned, but it was only after I constructed the whole piece that I saw I now have 2 weirdly shaped white fabric pieces, but at least the middle is really cool!

Only half a side left to go, finishing the binding of this small quilted square. I'll also add two straps at the top so that I can hang this on the back of a garden chair.

I'm enjoying creating a small quilt, and I have learned loads in the process, and I'm already planning the next quilted piece in my head.
