Bill that could ban TikTok passes in House despite constitutional concerns

US much closer to banning TikTok, despite users' protests.

@arstechnica maybe ban truth social instead? A lot bigger threat to the US
@arstechnica Although I'm concerned whether it's strictly on a legal ground, I cannot but be skeptical on that "protest." How? By cranking up their public "pranks?"

@arstechnica

This is the dumbest shit.

@arstechnica TL;DR:
- GenZ is not on board with business as usual neoliberalism and posts as such on social media.
- Since TikTok is their most popular platform , they are going after it directly.
- So to punish GenZ, they are enacting CCP style speech-squashing under the guise of protecting us from the CCP.

The US Government is slowly pissing away what remains of its moral authority when it prioritizes destroying free speech over making sure the population is housed and fed.
