Hopefully including the ARP and Fire Warden records ... My mom's brother in law was in the voluntary fire service ... One night he came home after a bunch of his pals got killed by a collapsing wall "The Night they Bombed Dockers" paint factory in Ladywood in Brum. The target was vats of "dope" varnish that was used to stiffen the canvas wings of Spitfires and other planes that were being made not far away.
Brave men in reserved occupations who often died.
"The Night They Bombed Dockers" ... Google it!
My mother's brother in law, my uncle Jack, was part of the Wiggins fire team. Luckily he wasn't one of the 4 men lost that night
Pity ... Looks like it's just the Home Guard records :(
