I'm in the middle of developing my first roll of film at home, wish me luck! #photography #filmphotography #homedeveloping #standdevelopment #semistanddev
I did a single roll of 35 and added enough chemicals for that - but had the film on the upper reel. Result is the top few mm of each frame being clear on the negative. Also, the emulsion side is very sticky/gummy. Is that normal? Would it be from a lack of chemicals? Did I mess something else up?
@lewgrant Yes, sticky is normal. It’ll dry fine. At first it will curl with the emulsion side convex, then as it dries it’ll flip to the emulsion side concave. This is easiest corrected by rolling it with the emulsion side outwards and leaving it in a small round pot or glass for a couple of days. Some film is worse than others for curling.
