#AngelaChao was hosting old B-school friends. Might’ve been tipsy. Pulled up the old shifter, which (confusingly) reverses. Noticing she was moving in reverse, maybe hit the go pedal while trying to hit the brake.
Once in the pond, couldn’t or didn’t open her door or window. Called a friend. Might’ve been inverted and sinking.
If she were sober and sinking slowly, she might’ve been able to exit, or let water in to equalize pressure. Hard to say without video. Hard to second-guess. Just feels like an avoidable tragedy.
