@Long_live_rock_n_roll Todd Rundgren in the late 70s.
@Long_live_rock_n_roll And also, Don Henley performed at the Buddy Awards in Dallas (Texas-only version of the Grammys) one yr, & my boyfriend's band was nominated for an award--we were seated about 6 ft. from the stage, & I've never heard/seen/experienced such a tight band in my life. They did a bunch of stuff off Building The Perfect Beast--they were PHENOMENAL.
@Long_live_rock_n_roll It's probably a toss up between any of the Prince concerts I've seen. 💜
@Long_live_rock_n_roll Jane’s Addiction, Brixton Academy, can’t remember the exact date but it was the Strays tour.
@Long_live_rock_n_roll I saw H2O at the Masquerade in Atlanta years ago and the energy was absolutely insane.
@Long_live_rock_n_roll Sammy Hagar, Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, and Journey.
@Long_live_rock_n_roll NIN, 2005 With Teeth tour at our local college auditorium (Cal Poly). The first few notes made the hair on the back of my neck tingle. Just got better after that.
@Long_live_rock_n_roll
Seeing Metallica for the first time at Hammersmith Odeon in '88.
That said, the secret gig Aerosmith did at the Marquee in 1990 (I think) was pretty special. Especially when Jimmy Page came on to do Red House and blew up the PA. Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet was in the audience as well
@Long_live_rock_n_roll Peter Gabriel at Torhout Werchter, ca. 1986 (Album So).

@Long_live_rock_n_roll Depeche Mode, Crystal Palace UK, 31/7/93

Absolutely stunning show, Gahan at the peak of his drug-fuelled, rock god powers. Sisters of Mercy supporting and a beautiful warm summer’s day. 18yo me was in goth-rock heaven

@Long_live_rock_n_roll Hanoi Rocks in a small, dark sweaty long forgotten night club in Nottingham 1984. A magical night.
@Long_live_rock_n_roll Michael Jackson at Cardiff Alms Park as was
@Long_live_rock_n_roll The Ramones and White Zombie Dec. 1995 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax Va. I was 13.

@Long_live_rock_n_roll

So many. The last gig I went to, The Cure in Geneva last Nov was incredible, they give good gig. (Marred only slightly by contracting Covid, yes at a Cure gig, the irony).

But I have to say Marillion in Wembley Arena, Thieving Magpie tour in ‘87. It was the first gig I ever went to, I was 16, I was obsessed with the band, and they were at their best.

@Long_live_rock_n_roll Probably my first concert in Vicenza whilst I was at school there. Gentle Giant opening for Black Sabbath in '72. I couldn't hear properly for about 3 days. It was a small indoor venue that might have seated about 1500.
@Long_live_rock_n_roll
The John McLaughlin Trio (feat. Jeff Berlin and Trilok Gurtu) in Huy, Belgium.
Special mentions go to:
- the very last ELP gig at High Voltage 2010 (not great but special)
- a surprise tryout gig by Dave Edmunds in a pub in a place called Bunny (Notts.) where I happened to be having a beer that night
- Toots Thielemans in the Brussels Jazz Club. 1979
- Ray Davies 'The Storyteller' in Utrecht, Netherlands
- The Analogues 'Hello Goodbye' in Bordeaux, 2023
@Long_live_rock_n_roll Fred Frith @ Moers.
That's when I saw Dagmar Krause dancing with herself and I fell in love

@Long_live_rock_n_roll don't know where I've been I missed this one but anyway, 2 that come to mind.

Pavement at the Palais Theatre Melbourne 2023 , was just such a great vibe going and the band genuinely were happy to be doing their business.

Fugazi and Shellac at the Collingwood town hall in Melbourne 1993, man what a show

@Long_live_rock_n_roll Tracy Chapman in the Roman Theatre in Arles, South of France. When she started playing a capella in this ambiance it was so mesmerising. Such a power woman ✊
@Long_live_rock_n_roll
Thin Lizzy, Colston Hall, Bristol, early 80s. Eric Bell joined for the encore after playing his own gig earlier across town. Three guitars on Whiskey in the Jar!
