Mima-sama#JomaSison used to recommend the youth to join the #ROTC when he was leading the #KabataangMakabayan under the old Communist Party IIRC. 
Now the #NationalDemocratic movement he founded is one of ROTC's most ardent opponents, especially when it comes to being returned back to being a mandatory course for college.
The #ArmedForces of the Philippines, or rather the perception of it by the Left, has really changed drastically after the imposition of #Marcos' brutal #martiallaw in the 70s.

Numerous leftist leaders historically have encouraged military service. If you can get weapons and combat training for free, sanctioned by the state, then why not? The revolutions need people with discipline and the capability of self defense.
