@nanographs congratulations 🎉🎊🍾🎈
@nanographs do you also sell the microsocopes?
@the_wiggler I’ve never been great at just selling microscopes (ie flipping), but I am pretty good at helping folks buy other people’s microscopes and helping them refurbish them, so in a sense yes.
@the_wiggler we have a few scopes we’re trying to help re-home right now, so if you’re interested let us know!
@nanographs my interest likely excedes my abilities in this case. It looks like something I could fit in a basement, but actually running one seems like a challenge. Still, good to know they're circulating?
@nanographs I love how SEMs have become widespread enough in hobbyist / hackerspace environments that this is a viable pitch
@cato Yeah it’s pretty incredible! I needed this when I got my first SEM ~7 years ago, and they have only gotten more widely available since.

@nanographs oh, nice!

Confirms my suspicion Glasgow could really help in analog domains by making it easy to plumb up DACs and ADCs: just add your own front end! We’re a hop and a skip from an open source equivalent of Analog Discovery. Also, I still haven’t got my shipping notice. Bereft.

Most importantly though: good on you (y’all?) for this work!

@vk2tty Thanks! Its been mostly me and @isabel so far, but @whitequark just re architecture and wrote our gateware in one evening and we are excited to work with her more.
@nanographs This is such an amazing project. My lab got a JEOL 6480 a couple of years ago (see more here: https://fablab.ruc.dk/electron-microscope-scanning-electron-microscope-sem/). Does your board support this specific type? If positive we would love to purchase a board. :-)

Electron microscope (first Fablab in world to have an electron microscope as far as we know) We have recently acquired this machine and are still learning to how to use it effectively and we are making a how to guide. JEOL - JSM-6480LV Preliminary guide how to use Some manual

@schack @nanographs Yes it does! It would certainly be an upgrade over the existing imaging pipeline on a 6480.
@nanographs We have a JEOL 6360LV. Do you think it will be compatible ?
@bastienal yeah, it can control your microscopes scan through the EDS scan port.
