The frequency and FEROCITY of EV fires honestly scares me.

It's extremely ironic when gasoline, something that is much maligned by EV owners as being flammable "dino juice" (its origins aren't actually from dinosaurs...), is actually MORE stable than the lithium cells used in EV batteries.

A whole gas tank isn't going to go nuclear on a random whim. It can't even burn without air and an ignition source, but lithium batteries absolutely can light themselves right up and burn uncontrollably.

@dragonarchitect energy density is a hell of a thing. When you have a hundred years to learn how to mitigate the risks of one particularly dense storage medium, the contrast between that and another one which has not had the same attention can out the master into stark relief
