draft - what if magsafe / qi2 or qi3 had a few pins built into the design so that in addition to the inductive charging, there could also be an option for a more "direct" charging function with less energy loss and faster charging. I'm not talking about USBC, I'm talking about pins like the smart connector on iPad etc...
