Scotland has made a skate park in Livingston into a Category B listed structure.

It doesn't make it so protected that it can't be used. Instead, it protects it from being demolished and it puts an onus on the council to maintain it 👍

Livingston skatepark is first to be listed in Scotland

Livingston skatepark opened in 1981 as is one of Scotland's oldest and most iconic skateparks.

@ibboard very hard to overstate the importance of Livi to the UK and worldwide. The key point is that Iain Urquhart convinced the corporation that it could be free and unsupervised. Up to that point parks of this type would have been supervised and therefore financially impossible to sustain. Livi made possible all the free council parks since then. Without Livi they would either have been too tame or would never have been built.
