I’m looking for a #linux distro recommendation. I’m using Zorin OS on my laptop but Gnome seems to be using a lot of RAM. I share the laptop with my partner so it’ll need to look like #windows for them.

I’m currently considering #linuxmint or some flavour of an immutable distro. I’m still somewhat of a Linux noob in that I’ve only been using it as a daily driver (currently #endeavouros) for about 5 months.

UPDATE: I got Fedora Kionite up and running on a VM on my main machine. With the same workload that had Zorin using 8 GB of RAM + 2 GB of swap, I'm currently only using 3 GB of RAM (I gave the VM 4GB).

I'll do some more testing on the VM since I really enjoy KDE and an atomic distro seems like a good idea - less maintenance.

EDIT: just realised that the time tracking software my company uses isn't working. I'll have to tinker a little to figure out what is happening.

@governorkeagan I've been using the #xfce flavor of #manjaro_linux for about three years now on an old T450 ThinkPad and it's been great for everything from daily tasks, to streaming games via moonlight from my gaming computer, to light pcb design in KiCad.
